The temple complex follows a two-courtyard, quadrangle layout, facing south. The central axis features the main hall and the passing hall, while the stage is located about 50 meters south outside the temple courtyard, with only the foundation remaining. Bell and drum towers, as well as east and west wing rooms, are situated on both sides of the temple courtyard.

The main hall is five bays wide and two bays deep. Its beam-frame structure includes six-rafter brackets with a bracket-arm ratio of approximately 2:1 — a characteristic proportion of early architectural components. At the ridge purlin, forked arms are used, and under the short column (shuzhu), a camel hump (tuofeng) is employed, both of which are features of early architecture. The bracket sets above the bucket arches are remnants called “dou tou mu,” and the bracket arms are closely spaced toward the eaves, an uncommon design. The roof tiles display ancient glaze colors, with green and yellow floral patterns still faintly visible.

On October 7, 2019, Changchun Jade Emperor Temple was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
