Mount Shuilo Gongga

Mount Shuilo Gongga features alpine scenery composed of snow-capped mountains, lakes, pastures, forests, and waterfalls. The three sacred snow mountains within Muli County—Sharndoji (5,958 meters), and in Daocheng County—Xianuoduoji (6,032 meters) and Yangmai Yong (5,958 meters), are known by their Buddhist name "Thirty Ancient Lords Mountains" and rank eleventh among the world’s twenty-four sacred Buddhist sites.

Historical records indicate that in the 8th century, Guru Rinpoche consecrated Gonggarisonggongbu. The three sacred peaks were named after the Three Supreme Bodhisattvas of Buddhism—each representing a deity tasked with subduing evil: Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, and Vajrapani. Xianuoduoji is dedicated to Avalokiteshvara (the Goddess of Mercy); Yangmai Yong to Manjushri (the Bodhisattva of Wisdom); and Sharndoji to Vajrapani (the Bodhisattva of Power).
