The Huili Conference Memorial Site is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a Sichuan Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit, and a classic red tourism destination.

The Huili Conference Memorial Site is located in the heart of Huili County, adjacent to the nationally renowned historic and cultural city and national 4A-level tourist attraction — Huili Ancient Town, as well as the national 3A-level tourist attractions — Green Pottery Cultural Industrial Park and Jinghua Water Park.

The Huili Conference Memorial Site offers a diverse range of tourism resources and large-scale physical attractions. The scenic area is home to numerous red culture heritage sites, stunning and rugged mountain landscapes, and a warm, pleasant climate that feels like spring all year round. The abundant red culture resources here are organically integrated with diverse ethnic cultures, unique local customs, and exceptional natural resources, resulting in extremely high-quality offerings. It serves as an outstanding destination for experiencing the Long March culture in this small Sichuan-Yunnan town and for rural leisure vacations.

The "Huili Conference" Memorial Site is situated by the Immortal Lake (Xianren Lake) and includes a memorial square, the site of the original conference, and a visitor center. In May 1935, after the Central Red Army skillfully crossed the Jinsha River and entered Huili, the first expanded meeting of the Central Political Bureau after entering Sichuan was held in Tiecun Village on May 12. The "Huili Conference" was a significant meeting during the Long March. It unified the strategic thinking of the Central Red Army, consolidated the outcomes of the "Zunyi Conference," further solidified Mao Zedong's leadership within the Party and the Red Army, maintained unity among the central and army leadership, and played a decisive role in achieving the victorious rendezvous of the First and Fourth Front Armies in northwestern Sichuan.

In 2007, the Huili County People's Government listed the "Huili Conference" site as a key government investment project for infrastructure renovation and construction. The improvements to the site’s hardware facilities and service conditions created favorable conditions and provided high-quality services for visitors to come and learn about the site and receive patriotic education. The "Huili Conference" Memorial Site is one of the 100 red tourism attractions planned by the nation and was designated as a Sichuan Provincial Patriotic Education Base in 2011.
