Maocaoba Ski Resort is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Maocaoba Ski Resort is located on the Swan Pond section of the tourism loop road in Xinglong Town, Fengjie County, Chongqing. It is 208 km from Wanzhou, 78 km from Enshi, 58 km from Jianshi, and 75 km from downtown Fengjie. The resort sits at an altitude of approximately 1,900 meters and covers an area of 60,000 square meters. The area boasts beautiful scenery and a pleasant climate. In winter, it is covered in thick snow, offering a rich ice and snow experience. With vast areas of snow-covered pine trees, the snow can last for over 90 days. The low temperatures, abundant snowfall, high-quality snow, wide slopes, and inclines generally between 5 to 15 degrees make it highly suitable for skiing.

Maocaoba Ski Resort is the sixth ski resort newly built in Chongqing, following the North Slope Ski Resort, Qianniuping Ski Resort, and Xiannvshan Western First Ski Resort on Jinfo Mountain, as well as the Hongchiba Ski Resort in Wuxi and the Huangshui Dafengbao Ski Resort in Shizhu. It is also the “youngest and most fashionably equipped ski resort in eastern Chongqing.”

The ski resort was constructed with an investment of 150 million yuan by Huizhou Jintao Tourism Development Co., Ltd. from Guangdong Province, through investment attraction by the People’s Government of Fengjie County. It officially opened to the public in 2015 and receives around 500,000 visitors annually on average. Currently, Maocaoba Ski Resort features a rental and service center, ski runs, a snow play area, as well as supporting facilities such as pools, roads, and more. There is one beginner slope and one intermediate slope, each 180 meters long, along with a 3,000-square-meter snow play zone and an 8,000-square-meter snow tubing track suitable for all ages. The beginner slope is equipped with imported magic carpets to allow newcomers to fully enjoy the thrill of skiing. In addition to skiing, visitors can also enjoy a variety of recreational activities including snowmobiles, snow tanks, snow chairs, children’s sleds, snow tubing, and snowboarding—all safe and full of fun. Skiing at Maocaoba has become the premier winter tourism activity in Fengjie County.
