Jiangjin Heishi Mountain is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Heishi Mountain Scenic Area is a Chongqing municipal-level scenic spot and municipal forest park, located in the southwestern part of Jiangjin District, about 4 kilometers from the historic and cultural town of Jiangjin Baisha. The Heishi Mountain Scenic Area has been included in the American Travel Dictionary and is a uniquely beautiful tourist destination. Over the past century, it has nurtured poet Wu Fangji, traditional Chinese painter Zhang Caiqin, calligrapher Deng Shaoqin, scientist Zhou Guangzhao, and many others. Numerous renowned figures such as Chen Duxiu, Feng Yuxiang, Xiao Xiang, Zhou Haoran, Wu Mi, She Xueman, Yu Youren, Chen Lifu, and Ou Keping have also left valuable cultural legacies here, with over 60 inscriptions scattered throughout the scenic area.

The attractions on Heishi Mountain center around Jiǔqū Pō (Nine-Bend Pool), built around natural rock formations such as “Hángǔ” (Letter Valley) and “Shuāngwā Duìyǔ” (Two Frogs Talking). The site features three pavilions — “Jiànzhǐ” (Reflections), “Yèyǔ” (Night Rain), and “Wènméi” (Asking the Plum) — and three bridges: “Jìng” (Mirror), “Biānfú Fēi” (Flying Bat), and “Xiānhè” (Immortal Crane). The graves of the “Three Treasures of Jukui” — Wu Fangji, Zhang Caiqin, and Deng Shaoqin — are scattered throughout the woods. There are also two pools, “Yǐnshuǐ Sīyuán” (When Drinking Water, Think of Its Source) and “Qǐshēng” (Colorful Reed), as well as two pavilions and stone tablets that decorate the area.

The mountain is densely forested with tall pines, cypresses, camphor trees, and nanmu trees — several thousand in total — most planted between the 17th and 19th centuries. Surrounding the mountain are citrus orchards with thousands of orange trees (planted between the 15th and 19th years of the Republic of China period). In addition, there are over half a century old precious flowers and trees such as red camellias, white azaleas, magnolia, gardenia, osmanthus that blooms year-round, and podocarpus.

Baisha Town: Baisha, located 45 kilometers west of Jiangjin, has long been the economic, commercial, and cultural hub of western Jiangjin and a transportation junction for northern Guizhou. It is known by titles such as “Famous Town of the Land of Abundance” and “Cultural Center of Eastern Sichuan.” During the War of Resistance against Japan, it became a gathering place for intellectuals as the “rear area,” and in the early years after liberation, it served as the seat of the Jiangjin County government for six years. Its profound cultural heritage and abundant material resources have given rise to its unique charm and character.

The town is a millennia-old settlement; the city is a renowned town of Bayu.
