Stone Bamboo Mountain belongs to the Yunwu Mountain Range and is located in Yong'an, north of Shimen Town, Jiangjin District, Chongqing. It is 34 kilometers from Jiangjin and 36 kilometers from downtown Yongchuan. The mountain features two main peaks: Male Stone Bamboo Mountain and Female Stone Bamboo Mountain, each about 700 meters above sea level. The area boasts a dense concentration of scenic spots that change with every step, offering breathtaking beauty as a perfect integration of natural and cultural landscapes. Religious culture forms the core of the mountain’s cultural heritage. There are four or five temples of various sizes on the mountain, housing countless statues of deities. “Hearing the golden bells upon approaching the mountain, and catching the fragrance of incense upon entering the temple,” the temples are bustling with year-round religious activities and flourishing Buddhist practices. Meditating in Zen, listening to the morning and evening bells, and chanting Buddhist scriptures offer a serene and transcendent experience akin to a sacred mountain realm.
