China Virtues Park

China Virtues Park is located in the center of Dadukou, adjacent to the district government and connected to the thousand-acre Shuangshan Park. Covering a total area of over 200 acres, the park is being developed in three phases. The first phase, with an investment of 28 million yuan and covering approximately 120 acres, and the second phase, with an investment of about 17 million yuan and covering around 50 acres, have both been completed and opened to the public. The third phase is planned with an investment of 40 million yuan, covering about 40 acres, and is scheduled to commence construction within the year.

Themed around traditional Chinese virtues, China Virtues Park uses traditional Chinese architectural elements as carriers. Through various forms such as natural stone carvings, inscriptions, calligraphy, paintings, and sculptures, it showcases famous quotes, diverse philosophies, and historical stories. These reflect core Chinese virtues including courtesy and integrity, benevolence and righteousness, wisdom and compassion, patriotism and dedication, and perseverance. The park aims to harmoniously integrate a pleasant environment, cultural education, and moral cultivation, highlighting the profound richness of Chinese virtues and cultural heritage.

The first phase of the park’s development primarily leverages the existing terrain and landscape features, using a rich variety of plants to create ecological community scenery. Traditional buildings, structures, and various ornamental stones are thoughtfully integrated throughout the park.

The second phase of the park focuses on ancient architecture and the promotion of virtue culture, divided into Xinyuan (Fragrant Garden) and Deyuan (Virtue Garden). Key landscape structures include the Virtue Relief Wall, Zhisheng Zhuge Liang (Zhuge Liang’s Wisdom), Maolu Lishè (Thatched Cottage Hospitality), Wuchang Forest, and Yuntian Bridge. These showcase the moral values nurtured by millennia of Chinese civilization. Xinyuan calls for the return of traditional virtues, while Deyuan presents new interpretations and extensions of Chinese civilization under contemporary contexts. Within Deyuan, the Chongqing Spiritual Civilization Forest interprets the spirit of the city and inspires civic identity and pride. There is also a Virtue Corridor that runs through the second phase, beautifying the light rail pillars and transforming them into an imaginative corridor integrated into the park landscape. This corridor artistically presents the core content of the Socialist Concept of Honor and Disgrace—serving as one of the fundamental value orientations and behavioral standards in contemporary China, an important part of the core socialist value system, and a continuation of traditional Chinese virtues. The third phase of the park will mainly feature a complex of ancient-style buildings, serving as key management service areas and elevated viewpoints. It will also subtly incorporate elements of Chinese virtue culture, organically integrating Phase Three with Phases One and Two to become a significant platform for inheriting Chinese virtue culture.

Once completed, Virtue Park will serve as a patriotic education base, a civic morality development base, a juvenile ideological and moral education base in Chongqing, as well as an important ecological and cultural leisure destination in Dadukou District.

Transportation: There are three bus stops near China Virtues Park: District Government, Yangguang Huayuan (next to Dadukou Light Rail Station), and Fengdan Xiaozhu. Among them, the bus routes passing the District Government stop include Bus 207 (Caiyuanba–Lizilin–Xianghe Yuxinyuan), 225 (Daping–Chenjiaba), 226 (Yangjiaping–Jinyulu Island), 235 (Daping–Funiuxi), 238 (Yudong–Shiqiaopu), 239 (Shapingba–Jinyulu Island), 275 (Yangjiaping–Dayan Yicun–Xinrui Leju), 424 (Jiefangbei–Yuanting Community), 452 (Nanping–Yuanting Community), 489 (Chongqing Radio & TV University–Shuangshan–Jianqiao Area A), 806 (Shapingba–Jinxia Street), 818 (Chongqing North Railway Station–Jintian Kangdu), and 891 (Ronghui Peninsula–Xinqiao Hospital). The bus routes passing the Yangguang Huayuan stop (next to Dadukou Light Rail Station) and Fengdan Xiaozhu stop include Bus 258 (Xinrui Community–Shiqiaopu), 836 (Jianqiao Area A–Shiqiaopu–Shuijing Liyuan), and the Express Bus Line 1 (Hong Kong City–Chongqing North Railway Station).
