The Mawangchang Site is located in the Mawangchang area and along the Taohuaxi River basin in Yuejin Village Subdistrict, Dadukou District. The site was discovered in 1987 during the renovation project of the Taohuaxi Zoo section, and subsequent stratigraphic profile investigations confirmed it to be a Paleolithic site. The site can be divided into six layers from top to bottom. A total of 69 stone artifacts were collected from the site, 48 of which were unearthed from stratified deposits, while the remaining 21 were found during the original riverbed renovation project and lacked stratigraphic context. The unearthed lithic artifacts include hammerstone cores, scrapers, choppers, etc. The stone tools are coarse and roughly worked, mainly produced using the hammering technique, with occasional use of the bipolar and battering methods. Based on analysis of the lithic artifacts and stratigraphy, the site dates to the later period of the Paleolithic Age. Situated on the rear edge of the Dadukou Peninsula, with the Yangtze River to the south, the Mawangchang Paleolithic Site is an area highly suitable for human habitation. As the only Paleolithic site discovered in the main urban area, it opens a window into the ancient primitive culture of the city center, provides essential physical data for understanding the developmental sequence of early cultures in the main urban area and Chongqing region, and is highly valuable for learning about the ancient geographical environment, population composition and social structure, as well as economic forms of the area.

Yuejin Village Subdistrict: Located in the eastern part of Dadukou District, Yuejin Village Subdistrict covers an area of 3.2 square kilometers and has a population of over 50,000. It administers ten community neighborhood committees and is a typical old urban area. The subdistrict hosts social institutions such as Chongqing Iron and Steel Group Company, Chongqing Iron and Steel Central Clinic, Chongqing Iron and Steel Union Recreation Center, Chongqing Iron and Steel Workers' University, Chongqing Business School, Chongqing Gangcheng Experimental School, and Dadukou District Primary School.
