Introduction Located in Baishiyi Town, Jiulongpo District, it is the first egret nature reserve in China. The reserve is home to over 20,000 egrets of various species. Flocks of egrets dwell among lush bamboo groves, creating a unique scenic picture where pastoral landscapes complement the elegant birds.

It covers an area of 52.3 square kilometers, governs eleven administrative villages, 190 production cooperatives, and two community neighborhood committees, with a current population of 57,000. Of these, there are 31,190 rural residents, and 25,881 urban and floating residents, making the urbanization rate 45.4%. The natural population growth rate is 1.3%.
