Jiufeng Mountain Scenic Area

Jiufeng Mountain Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Jiufeng Mountain Ecotourism Resort covers an area of 3.5 square kilometers, with an elevation ranging from 330 to 580 meters. It consists of three sections: the Thousand-Mu Pear Blossom Mountain, the Century-Old Pear Orchard, and the Jiufeng Jade Pool. The Century-Old Pear Orchard has 81 pear trees over 120 years old, making it the most concentrated and numerous ancient pear tree group discovered in Chongqing to date. The Jade Pool, known as the "Little Jiuzhai," is scattered among the woods, with mirror-like, crystal-clear waters that change colors with the seasons throughout the year.

Main Attractions of the Scenic Area

Three Hundred Steps Snow Sea

Named after the stone-paved staircase of Three Hundred Steps, this area spans over 300 acres and represents the essence of the Thousand-Mu Pear Blossom Mountain. Tuanshan Fort is its highest point, offering views eastward to the Three Hundred Steps Snow Sea, southward to a paradise-like landscape, westward to a cluster of pagoda-peaked mountains, making it an excellent spot for sightseeing and photography.

Ancient Stockade Pear Orchard

Located at the northern end of Pear Blossom Mountain, the Ancient Stockade Pear Orchard gets its name from the Qing Dynasty-era ancient stockade that once stood here. The original stockade covered over 30 acres, featuring 3-meter-high walls and four stockade gates. The area was planted with pear trees, which turn the slopes snow-white in spring, adding vibrant life to the scenery. From the top of the stockade, there are wide views: west to the scenic peaks of the Jade Pool and the Century-Old Pear Orchard, south to Hailanyuntian, north to Lotus Lake, and east to Fengchi Flower Terrace.

Paradise on Earth

Nestled in the southern valley of Pear Blossom Mountain, Paradise on Earth covers an area of over 120 acres. To the west lies Jinyun Mountain, and to the east lies Zhaishanping, with peach trees covering the hills and plum trees blanketing the slopes.

Century-Old Pear Orchard

The Century-Old Pear Orchard is located in Huangjiawan, spanning over 100 acres. Its core protected area is 58 acres, home to 81 pear trees over 120 years old, making it the most concentrated and numerous ancient pear tree group discovered in Chongqing to date. The "Pear Tree King" and "Revived Deadwood" are hailed as the "twin wonders" of the orchard.

Jiufeng Jade Pool

Jiufeng Jade Pool is a subtropical low-mountain forest wetland, consisting of nine colorful pools scattered across the mountains, with an average elevation of 450 meters. The main pools include Golden Phoenix Pool, Dragon-Phoenix Pool, Coming Phoenix Pool, Red Phoenix Pool, and Silver Phoenix Pool. Each pool has a distinct environment and unique shape, with crystal-clear, azure waters resembling jade. They are also known as the "Colorful Jade Pools" and the "Little Jiuzhai."

Lion Peak Ancient Stockade

Lion Peak Stockade is located at the highest point of Baitaping Forest Park, built during the Xianfeng era of the Qing Dynasty, at an elevation of 646 meters. It features ruins of the Lion Peak Stockade walls and a fire watchtower. The remaining East Stockade Gate and over 1,000 meters of broken walls still stand, with inscriptions such as "The Second Month of the Tenth Year of Xianfeng in the Great Qing" on the arch of the gate.

Stone Lotus Blooms

Stone Lotus Blooms is located on the cliffs halfway up the southern slope of Yuntai Mountain in Baitaping Forest Park, consisting of seven exposed rocks. From a distance, they resemble Buddha’s face; up close, they look like flower buds.
