Tongnan Qingyun Lake

Qingyun Lake is situated in Gaoba Village and Zaojiao Village, Xiaodu Town, Tongnan County. Built in 1960, the reservoir has a catchment area of 94 km² above the dam site, a drainage basin of around 5.6 km², and a total water storage capacity of 17.8 million m³. It spans both Tongnan and Tongliang counties. Known for its stunning landscapes and abundant attractions, the lake covers 3,800 mu with rich vegetation, a pleasant climate, shimmering blue waters, and breathtaking scenery. Seagulls and cranes gather here, where water and sky blend seamlessly. Fishermen enjoy their peaceful pastime, immersing themselves in the unspoiled charm of nature. This makes it highly appealing to urban dwellers seeking a “back-to-basics, return-to-nature” experience, and it holds great potential for development. The surrounding terrain is flat with fertile soil and 6,000 mu of arable land, including 1,000 mu of high-quality vineyards and 3,500 mu of green deep-water ponds. Both Gaoba Village and Zaojiao Village are designated as part of the new rural development initiative. The lake offers great potential for development into a large-scale, high-end comprehensive mountain wetland park and water-themed tourist area integrating sightseeing, leisure vacations, fitness, and recreational activities.
