A haven of wellness and a spiritually enchanting place, Longduo Mountain is located within Longxing Town, Tongnan District, adjacent to Longfeng Town in Hechuan District. With its highest peak at 619 meters above sea level, the mountain stretches for ten li, boasting abundant tourism resources and is recognized as a renowned mountain in the Bashu region. The mountain is covered with deep forests, picturesque scenery, bizarre rocks, murmuring springs, and the sounds of birds and fragrant flowers. The terrain at the foot of the mountain is flat and expansive, offering sweeping views of thousands of acres of fertile farmland and evoking boundless reverie with the sight of countless smoke trails from village homes. Longduo Mountain has a long-standing history of Buddhist and Taoist culture spanning a thousand years, with simple and elegant temples and shrines. The cliff inscriptions, accumulated over the dynasties of Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing by famous scholars and artists, are abundant and vividly lifelike. The “Eight Scenic Spots of Longduo” complement one another in natural beauty, while the magical and wonderful legends are deeply captivating. Longduo Mountain is also a land of revolutionary heritage, rich in red history and strong revolutionary traditions. From 1929 to 1932, the Tongnan Red Guards, led by underground party member Comrade Jiang Tao, used Longduo Mountain as their base, engaging in years of battles against the Nationalist forces and composing a magnificent chapter of red history on Longduo.

Longduo Mountain features an upright and elegant ridgeline, with undulating peaks stretching and soaring like a coiled dragon—hence the name Longduo Mountain. Historically revered as a sacred site for both Buddhism and Taoism, as well as a scenic destination in central Sichuan, Longduo Mountain was listed in 2009 as one of the “Top 10 Rural Tourism Projects in Chongqing.”
