Haikou Jinniuling Zoo

Jinniuling Zoo is located within Jinniuling Park in Haikou City. Approved in 1996 and opened to the public in 1998, it is the first urban zoo in China operated by an enterprise. Covering an area of 7.1 hectares, the zoo features a Eurasian garden-style design.

The zoo houses attractions such as Monkey Hill, Elephant House, Bear House, Predator Zone, Zebra House, Deer House, Small Animal House, Reptile House, World Famous Dogs Area, Waterfowl Area, and Aviary. It is home to over 3,000 animals from 350 species across nine major categories. Among the rare animals are monitor lizards, Eld’s deer, sika deer, Lady Amherst’s pheasants, Asian elephants, and giraffes. It is currently the largest, most upscale, and most diverse comprehensive zoo in Haikou.

The zoo is equipped with amusement facilities such as animal training shows, dog-pulled carts, and children’s playgrounds, as well as food and beverage services including cold drinks and fast food. Visitors can enjoy the quirky and fascinating behaviors of the animals, learn more about them, watch animal performances, and participate in fun interactive activities—offering endless entertainment. Refreshments are available when you’re thirsty, and delicious fast food options are offered when hunger strikes.

Jinniuling Park is a masterpiece of Haikou’s residents in protecting and building the ecological environment. Since its opening in 1996, it has been bustling with visitors every day. It is renowned across Hainan for its fresh, unique, and richly diverse viewing experiences, distinctive ecological environment, and the warm, attentive service provided by the park staff.
