Haikou People's Park

A popular urban park, featuring the picturesque East and West Lakes surrounded by coconut groves along the shores and magnificent pavilions on the islands in the lakes. The park also has a zoo where visitors can see various tropical and subtropical animals. A newly built amusement park attracts many children.

Haikou People's Park is divided into functional zones including the East and West Lakes sightseeing area, Martyrs' Memorial area, Tropical Plant Specimen area, Quiet Resting area, Orchid Garden, Animal area, and Residential area.

The Hainan Liberation Monument stands at the main entrance of the park on Daying Mountain. It was built in 1954 to commemorate the martyrs who bravely sacrificed their lives during the long-term revolution on Qiong Island and the sea-crossing operations. The park also features a statue and memorial pavilion of General Feng Baiju, a core leader of the Qiongya Party organization.
