Shengli Sha Road

Shengli Sha Street runs east from Xinhua North Road to the northern end of Longhua Road, stretching 520 meters in length. The South Asian-style commercial buildings along Shengli Sha Street, as well as those on nearby commercial streets such as Yongle Street (Jiefang Road), Dajie (Zhongshan Road), Xinjie (Xinhua Road), and Changdi Road, were built in the 1920s and 1930s. These buildings were mainly modeled after the architectural styles of Southeast Asia by returning overseas Chinese, and it is said that construction materials such as steel bars, nanmu wood, and cement used at the time were transported from Southeast Asia.
