Bo'ai Road

Bo'ai Road, historically known as the inner street of the ancient city and also called Nanbei Suo Street, is 9 meters wide and 1,300 meters long. It is the longest north-south street in Haikou's Qilou (arcade) Old Street and has a history of over 600 years. In 1924, during the demolition of the city walls and expansion of Haikou, the road was renamed Bo'ai Road in honor of the "universal love" spirit advocated by Sun Yat-sen. The section from Xinmin Road to Changdi Road is known as Bo'ai North Road, a must-visit old street for strolling through the Qilou Old Street. Walking along Bo'ai North Road, the rows of Qilou architecture create an immediate and striking visual impact.
