The former site of the First Congress of the Communist Party of Hainan is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The former site of the First Congress of the Communist Party of Hainan is located at No. 131 Zhulin Street, Jiefang West Road, Haikou. Facing south, it covers an area of 1,839 square meters and features a traditional quadrangle courtyard layout with two courtyards, three rooms, and east and west wing rooms—typical of Hainanese residential architecture. The alstonia trees planted decades ago now stand tall and shady. This was originally the “Qiu Family Ancestral Home.” The year the old house was built, 1920, marked the early stirrings of China’s revolutionary movement. In 1921, when the Communist Party of China was founded, three groups of CPC members and League members came to Hainan to carry out revolutionary activities. In February 1926, the “Special Branch of the Communist Party of Hainan” was established at the “Guandi Temple” in Haikou.
