Jiujia Ridge, a dividing ridge that separates Baisha into its southeastern and northwestern parts. Looking to the southeast, you’ll see the undulating mountain ranges of the Wuzhishan area with its countless peaks, while to the northwest lie the plains and the vast expanse of rubber plantations — truly a stunningly different kind of beauty.

The best time to climb Jiujia Ridge is in the early morning light. Jiujia Ridge resembles a green dragon emerging from the blue sea, its head lifted southward toward the distant sky. Through the lush green foliage, the faint outline of Baisha County can be seen shrouded in mountain mist and fog, presenting a landscape painting rendered in rich ink wash.

Jiujia Ridge is covered with kapok flowers as far as the eye can see, especially in March when they are in full bloom, creating a sea of red that looks like a sky-covered cloud — truly a scene of “endless brocade unfolding beneath the clouds.” Arriving at the mountaintop in the early morning dreamlike hours, the fiery red kapok blossoms draped in the gentle veil of mist and clouds appear shy yet enchanting, a truly moving sight. This draws many visitors who rise early just to admire this breathtaking beauty.

Transportation Guide: Starting from the county town, take Yafacha Middle Road, then Provincial Highway 301 towards Da’an Town. Pass through Jiujia Village to reach the destination.
