The Baisha Meteorite Crater is located within the Baisha Farm, 9 kilometers southeast of Yachajie Town. With a diameter of 3.7 kilometers, it is the first meteorite crater discovered in China, currently the only identifiable relatively young crater in the country, and one of just over a dozen craters worldwide that contain meteorite fragments.

The rim of the crater forms a relatively continuous ring-shaped ridge, with only a break in the southwest edge caused by erosion from two streams. Driving deep into the heart of the crater and standing before a tea plantation, you can gaze at a large area on the cliffs that shows clear signs of massive impact—this is the trace left by a meteorite that struck the earth 700,000 years ago. Scientists have scientifically estimated the size of this "celestial visitor" that hit the land of Baisha to be a meteorite with a diameter of 380 meters, with an impact energy equivalent to about 360 atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima, Japan. Hainan’s Baisha Meteorite Crater not only has visible meteorite remnants, but also clearly displays crater morphology, as well as rock metamorphism and fracture structures formed by the impact, making it a rare above-ground space tourism resource.

Standing inside the crater and looking around, you’ll see lush greenery and rows of densely planted tea trees covering the gentle slopes, vibrant with green—only the tea trees here can be called “Baisha Green Tea.” Stand and imagine the astonishing scene of a meteorite descending from the sky, striking the earth, shattering and melting rocks, and splashing molten lava in all directions.

: From the county town, follow the Yaxi Road to Baisha Tea City (Old Baisha Farm), then drive another two kilometers to reach the Nandu River Bridge (at the 6-kilometer mark of Yaxi Road). After crossing the bridge, you’ll arrive at Team 4 of Baisha Farm. Enter from the junction of Team 4 and proceed to Team 8 (the junction to the crater is about three kilometers away).
