Hongkan Waterfall is located in the southeastern part of Yuamen Township, Baisha Li Autonomous County, Hainan Province, about 24 kilometers from the county seat. The waterfall has a total drop of 145 meters. It originates from Hongkan Ridge at an altitude of 1,101 meters, where steep peaks rise on both sides and karst landscapes are abundant. Standing beneath Hongkan Waterfall and looking up, you’ll see a silver dragon-like cascade seemingly descending from the heavens. Below the falls, water droplets splash brilliantly and shimmeringly. During the rainy season, when mountain torrents surge, the roaring sound of Hongkan Waterfall shakes the surrounding hills with its majestic and spectacular presence. Yuamen Township also features Yuamen Cave, another attraction for sightseeing and exploration. During holidays, the waterfall and the cave draw many visitors.
