Baisha Golden Wave

Jinbo Township is situated in the northwest of Baisha Li Autonomous County, with a total area of 116 square kilometers. It lies about 53 kilometers from Yacheng Town, the seat of the county government. The township is bordered by Qingsong Township to the east, Qicha Town of Changjiang County near Bawangling to the south, the Shilu Reservoir and the Fifth Team of the State-owned Honglin Farm in Changjiang County to the west, and Qifang Town to the north. It is interwoven with the State-owned Jinbo Farm in the surrounding areas.

Jinbo Township is a basin surrounded by mountains, encircled by peaks ranging in elevation from 800 to 1,400 meters. The area enjoys relatively abundant water resources, with numerous streams of varying sizes. The Shilu River, one of the main and tributary streams of the Changhua River, originates from the southern mountainous region of Jinbo Township. Within the township, it is also known as the Nanyu River or Nancha River. This river serves as a major replenishment source for the Shilu Reservoir, and is a crucial irrigation water supply for agriculture in Jinbo Township, the State-owned Jinbo Farm, and Changjiang County. It is also an important source of drinking water for daily life in nearby farms, rural communities, and the urban area of Shilu Town. Therefore, implementing long-term and effective mechanisms such as enhanced publicity and ecological compensation to genuinely protect the forest and water resources, as well as the ecological environment within Jinbo Township, is of utmost importance.

Currently, Jinbo Township has three tourism spots that remain underdeveloped:

The first is a mountainous area adjacent to the Second Team of the State-owned Jinbo Farm, located upstream of the Shilu Reservoir, which is known as the “Little Guilin” and holds great potential for tourism development.

The second is the upstream area of the Shilu Reservoir within Jinbo Township. From August each year to February of the following year, during the typhoon and rainy season, the reservoir’s water level rises significantly. The reservoir area becomes an excellent destination for leisure cruises and sightseeing of the landscape. With proper planning and development, it could offer a uniquely charming experience. Visitors can also enjoy delicious fish such as cultured grass carp and tilapia from the reservoir.

The third is a naturally formed large rock near Jinbo’s Fifteenth Team, measuring approximately 20 meters in length, over 10 meters in width, and sloped at around 30 degrees. Mountain water flows over this rock, and beneath it lies a small pool, forming a natural waterslide.
