The Guilin Xiongsen Bear & Tiger Mountain Villa, with an investment of over 300 million yuan, is situated at the Shatang Roundabout on the Liangjiang International Airport Road in Guilin. Spanning more than 500,000 square meters, it houses the world’s four rarest and nearly extinct tiger species. Currently, there are over 300 tigers including Northeast Tigers, South China Tigers, Bengal Tigers, and White Tigers, over 400 black bears, over 100 lions, as well as leopards, snakes, monkeys, birds, and other first-class protected animals. It is the world’s largest research, breeding, wild training, viewing, and recreational base for black bears and tigers. It also serves as a teaching and research base for the Wildlife Resources College of Northeast Forestry University in China and the Guangxi Rare and Endangered Wildlife Rescue and Research Center, as well as a breeding base for feline species.

Since its establishment in 1993, through eight years of efforts by over ten animal experts, the villa has successfully bred over 190 tigers including Northeast Tigers, South China Tigers, Bengal Tigers, and White Tigers, over 200 black bears, and over 80 African lions, with a survival rate of 93%. By 2002, the number of tigers is expected to reach 500, and by 2003, 1,000. To promote wildlife culture, the villa has invested heavily in building a one-of-a-kind Dream Theater. With a large 460-square-meter hydraulic stage, the colorful performances featuring humans and animals together offer an experience almost like a dream, turning the impossible into reality before your eyes. At the same time, to cultivate the wild instincts of tigers, enhance their breeding rates, and prepare them for reintroduction into the wild, special simulated wild training programs for lions and tigers have been introduced, allowing visitors to witness how tigers survive in nature. Especially notable is the grand animal performance “Beastly Banquet,” a spectacular gathering of bears and tigers, led by an equestrian team, featuring over 100 tigers, black bears, African lions, monkeys, and other animals performing together. The scene is magnificent and grand, a rare spectacle to behold. Among the highlights is the high-difficulty act of black bears riding motorcycles on a 20-meter-high, 150-meter-long high-wire rope — thrilling and awe-inspiring, guaranteed to broaden your horizons.
