Guilin Botanical Garden

Guilin Botanical Garden is a comprehensive park integrating scientific research, education, sightseeing, and leisure.

The garden is surrounded by mountains and water, with towering ancient trees and rich, diverse vegetation. It uses tall native tree species of Guilin as its framework, highlights colorful foliage plants and rare species, and follows the principle of “protect first, develop later.” On the basis of effectively preserving the original vegetation, it has introduced and cultivated various subtropical plants, with over 1,000 plant species and more than 2,200 varieties.

Attractions:

Osmanthus Expo Garden: It has collected all the fine osmanthus varieties in Guilin and introduced over 10 superior varieties from Sichuan, Zhejiang, and other regions, totaling more than 80 osmanthus varieties. It is the osmanthus garden with the most varieties in China and abroad, and also has the largest collection of silver osmanthus varieties. It has made special contributions to China obtaining international registration rights for osmanthus and is one of the three “China Osmanthus Variety Breeding Centers” in the country.

Rare Plants Zone: It houses first-class nationally protected rare plants such as Alsophila spinulosa and Camellia nitidissima, as well as second-class nationally protected trees including golden larch, Pseudotsuga gaussenii, Keteleeria calcarea, Chamaecyparis fokienensis, Phoebe bournei, Garcinia paucinervis, Liriodendron chinense, Pinus massoniana, and Ormosia henryi.
