The Langzi Ancient Residential Complex

Located 82 kilometers from Guilin City and 22 kilometers from Yangshuo County, in Langzi Village about 8 kilometers from Gaotian, it is a large complex of ancient residences.

Originally built in the late Qing Dynasty. There are currently 11 ancient buildings still standing, including 2 ancient watchtowers and 2 ancestral halls. The ancient buildings cover a land area of 1,200 square meters and a construction area of 800 square meters. The residences are relatively well-preserved, and the entire architectural complex features a tight structure and ingenious layout, with exquisitely carved beams and painted rafters throughout. Each hall has uniquely shaped supporting pillars, and it took a total of 40 years to complete. The ancestors of the village were generals under Li Zicheng, the leader of the peasant revolt.

The folk craft processing industries in Langzi and the nearby Gudeng Village have reached a considerable scale, producing items such as dragon-headed canes, tobacco pipes, lion statues, and facial masks across eight major series, which are mainly sold to Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and other regions. Rural balls and folk-custom-themed travel souvenirs are primarily sold to Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Guilin, and Guangdong.
