Banbian Ferry

Banbian Ferry is located about two kilometers from Xiushan. On the left bank of the river, there stands a camel-shaped rocky hill that rises abruptly from the shore, blocking the path along the bank. As a result, two villages (Guanyan Village and Taoyuan Village) had to rely on ferryboats to travel back and forth. Since both ferry crossings were situated on the same side of the river, locals call it Banbian Ferry, meaning "Half-Side Ferry." On the opposite bank of Banbian Ferry lies a village called Langzhou Village. Nowadays, the ferry not only serves the half-side crossing but also shuttles between three docks on both sides of the riverbank. In effect, Banbian Ferry has become a "Three-Side Ferry," prompting locals to jokingly refer to it as "one ferry, two sides, three landings." Here, the cliffs are steep and the peaks rise like lotus flowers emerging from the water, their reflections shimmering in the green waves — truly a scene where "the landscape here is one of a kind, with sheer cliffs forming a river crossed by a half-side ferry."
