Yangshuo Landscape Garden

Located at the eastern foot of Bilian Peak in Yangshuo County, Guilin, and surrounded by the picturesque Li River, it is hailed as the "garden within a garden" for its combination of stunning landscapes, cultural relics, and rare curiosities. Throughout history, from the Tang Dynasty Buddhist master Jianzhen, the great poet Cao Ye, the renowned traveler Xu Xiake, and hundreds of other literati and dignitaries to contemporary figures such as -, Chen Yi, - and dozens of national leaders who have visited the garden, leaving behind a wealth of exquisite poems and calligraphic works.

Among the more representative features is the carved character "带" (ribbon/belt), which embodies the meanings of "a unique stretch of landscape, striving in youth, everlasting glory," along with the famous verse by Wu Mai of the Republican era: "Guilin’s scenery is the best under heaven, and Yangshuo is the best in Guilin." There are also dozens of ancient inscriptions and steles of high cultural value. At the ferry dock, there is a natural reef stone inscribed with the two characters "钓台" (Fishing Terrace), beside which is engraved a lyrical poem by the late Tang Dynasty famous poet Cao Ye from Yangshuo: "Sweeping leaves to brew tea, plucking leaves to write; idle-hearted, dreamless, the night window lies bare. It's not that I love fishing like Yan Guang, but that Emperor Guangwu's grace came too late."
