Ancient Banyan Park

Located in Chuanyan Village, Gaotian, with the Jinbao River flowing through it, an ancient banyan tree on the riverbank stands like a giant umbrella over the fields. This tree is one of the ancient trees in Yangshuo County, with a history of about a thousand years. It is 9 meters tall, has a circumference of 7 meters, and covers an area of approximately one thousand square meters, forming a picturesque contrast with the cave across the river. The area is densely dotted with scenic spots, featuring typical pastoral scenery. A local folk rhyme goes: “Ancient banyan by the clear stream, a golden hook hangs on the mountain peak; little bears run on the hill, frogs swim in the water; camels pass by, monkeys fret, otters sit in the rock cave, downstream from Golden Dragon Bridge.” It is the spot where Third Sister Liu and Brother Niu tied the love knot by tossing the embroidered ball in the movie *Third Sister Liu*. Poets throughout the ages have composed numerous verses praising the extraordinary scenery here.
