Xianggong Mountain

Xianggong Mountain is located on the western bank of the Li River within Xingping Town, Yangshuo County, situated between the Yellow Cloth Reflection and Nine Horses Painting Hill scenic spots. It offers an exceptional vantage point to overlook the “First Bend of the Li River.” From the summit, visitors can gaze upon the orderly peaks and the crystal-clear Li River winding through the mountain ranges—a breathtaking sight. The sunrise here attracts countless photographers and photography enthusiasts.

Xianggong Mountain is not very high and can be climbed to the top in about 20 minutes. However, due to its remote location and pristine scenery, the paths up and down the mountain are quite steep, so safety should be a priority during the hike. Once you descend to the foot of the mountain, you can enjoy the view of Nine Horses Painting Hill. From there, take a ferry to the opposite bank of the river and then hop on a bus to visit the ancient town of Xingping.

Currently, there is no direct bus service.

Car Rental or Self-Drive

From Yangshuo or Guilin, get off at Putao or Baisha and then rent a car directly to the foot of the mountain (Putao – Yangmei Ridge – Daping Village – Hepo Mountain Village, about 15 km, or Baisha – Guban Village – Hepo Mountain Village, about 18 km). Alternatively, you can rent a car or drive directly from Yangshuo via Baisha, turning right toward Guban direction to reach the shooting spot.

Boat Rental

You can also take a boat from Xingping, sail through Huangbu Shoal, arrive at the foot of the mountain, and then hike up.
