Luobo Pool

The pool covers an area of about 2,000 square meters, with clear and tranquil water that neither overflows after prolonged rain nor dries up during long droughts. It remains warm in winter and cool in summer. The deepest point reaches 46 meters. According to local lore, it is divided into three water basins—First Pool, Second Pool, and Third Pool. Due to varying depths, they are also categorized into three shades of blue: the First Pool, being the deepest, is called Dark Blue; the Second Pool and Third Pool, being shallower, are called Light Blue and Pale Blue, respectively.

The pool is surrounded by lush green trees. Within the pool lies a rocky islet covered with verdant trees, creating a natural scene resembling a waterside stone bonsai. On the northeastern shore of the pool are three large cliff inscriptions reading “Little Three Mountains,” written by Li Yanzhang, the magistrate of Si'en during the Qing Dynasty’s Daoguang era. The calligraphy is vigorous and retains an ancient charm. During the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty, the Guan Yue Temple, commonly known as the Luobo Pool Temple, was built on the eastern shore of the First Pool. Though once damaged, it has since been restored and is now open for worship.
