The main scenic area of Lichuan’s landscape is located about 1 kilometer north of the county town, primarily composed of Lichuan’s Solitary Beauty Peak and the Lichuan River. The scenic area covers an area of 9.8 hectares and falls under the category of natural scenery.

Lichuan’s Solitary Beauty Peak rises beside Yingpo Village in Lichuan, standing 63 meters tall and named for its solitary and striking presence. The mountain is thickly forested with ancient trees, their branches entwined with vines. In autumn, red beans fall to the ground, making it a popular time for young couples to collect them as tokens of affection. At the summit stands an ancient fortress. In 1996, with donations from officials and employees across Tiandeng County, a hexagonal pavilion was built at the top, and a circular pathway was constructed leading up to it. The mountain path, formed into a ring of steps, leads directly to the peak. From the top, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire county town. In front of the peak, the Lichuan River winds around the mountain, creating naturally beautiful scenery where clear waters meet lush hills, and rural houses complement the landscape in perfect harmony.

The Lichuan River originates in Ninggan Township, flowing through Ninggan, then through Hongling and Shengdian villages in Tiandeng Town, finally disappearing into an underground river. The river stretches over 10 kilometers in length. The river flows around the base of Solitary Beauty Peak, where there is a five-arch ancient stone bridge. Upstream of the bridge lies a river dam. When water flows over the dam, it cascades down in a spray, resembling a waterfall—especially spectacular during the rainy season. In summer, the Lichuan River is a must-visit spot for swimming enthusiasts. Every afternoon, the river is dotted with people, forming a vibrant scene along its waters. Lush ancient trees line both banks of the river, including large and small leaf banyans and horse tamarind trees, extending for about 5 kilometers along the river. Viewed from the top of Solitary Beauty Peak, they resemble a green dragon surging forward. The riverside fields are picturesque, with waves of rice swaying, and grassy meadows stretching out. Surrounded by mountains shrouded in mist, with clear waters reflecting the verdant peaks and petals adding splashes of color, the whole scene resembles a beautiful painting that delights the eye. It is no exaggeration to praise the Lichuan landscape as “jade-like green mountains standing tall like hairpins, and emerald waters winding like silk ribbons.” This exceptional natural environment has made the Lichuan scenic area one of the eight great sights of the former Nanning region. The Guangxi Film Studio even used the Lichuan landscape as a filming location for the movie “The Cuckoo’s Call.”
