The airport was designed to handle an annual passenger throughput of 80,000 by 2010. Construction officially began on March 15, 2005, and was completed in October 2006. The total construction area of the airport project covered 117.75 mu, including 93.75 mu for the terminal area, 21.5 mu for the access road, and 2.5 mu for the omnidirectional beacon. The terminal building covers 1,350 m², the passenger parking lot 1,600 m², the apron 10,000 m², the air traffic control building 650 m², the cargo terminal 200 m², the cargo parking lot 500 m², and auxiliary facilities such as office and living buildings, parking lots, and maintenance facilities are advanced and fully equipped.

Baise Tianyang Airport is a Chinese airport located in Baise City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Originally built in 1965 as a military airfield, it did not open for civil-military dual use until 2003. The airport is situated 5.5 km southeast of Tianyang County in Baise City and 38 km from downtown Baise. Its predecessor was the Air Force Tianyang Airport, which was constructed in 1965. On June 25, 2003, it was approved by the State Council and the Central Military Commission for civil-military dual use, with the civil part named Baise Airport and assigned the IATA code AEB. The airport is planned to a 4C standard but built to a 3C level, with a fire protection rating of 4. The runway, extended and reinforced from the original military runway, is 2,200 meters long (with 400 meters reserved), 45 meters wide, and 40 centimeters thick. The main landing direction is equipped with a 420-meter Type B simple approach lighting system, capable of handling aircraft such as the B737 and below, and supports night operations.
