Baise Uprising Memorial Park is located on the Houlong Mountain, Panlong Mountain, and Yinglong Mountain to the east of Baise City. It is a thematic memorial park formed by integrating revolutionary and historical cultural resources such as the Baise Uprising Memorial Hall, the Youjiang Ethnic Museum, the Baise Uprising Monument, the Red Army Bridge, the Bronze Drum Tower, the Nan'ge Pavilion, and the Guangdong-Guangxi Youth Friendship Garden. Established in July 2008, it is the core area of the “Two Rivers’ Red Flags, Baise Thunder” scenic area, one of the twelve key red tourism destinations designated by the central government.

In December 2017, it was selected as part of the first batch of national research and practice education bases and camps for primary and secondary school students by the Ministry of Education. On January 7, 2020, it was designated as a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Baise Uprising Memorial Hall

The Baise Uprising Memorial Hall, with its name inscribed by Comrade Jiang Zemin, is situated on Yinglong Mountain along Chengdong Road. It covers a construction area of 5,500 square meters, with an exhibition space of 3,000 square meters and a total display line of 738 meters. The hall exhibits 326 historically valuable cultural relics and 428 photographs. In terms of layout structure, it is divided into six major sections: the Preface Hall, the Uprising Hall, the Martyrs Hall, the Meritorious Figures Hall, the Deng Xiaoping Hall, and the Multi-function Hall, under the categories of basic exhibitions and thematic exhibitions. In content, the exhibition primarily uses cultural relics as its medium to comprehensively showcase key figures and events related to the Baise Uprising. The theme highlights the great achievements of Comrade Deng Xiaoping and the revolutionary spirit of the Baise Uprising pioneers—undaunted by hardship, willing to sacrifice, bravely fighting, dedicated to governance, and committed to integrity. In terms of presentation methods, it extensively employs modern exhibition technologies such as sound, light, electricity, multimedia, murals, sculptures, oil paintings, scene reconstructions, holographic imaging, and virtual reality to recreate history, emphasize highlights, and enhance artistic and emotional impact. At the same time, it integrates ethnic culture and symbols into public spaces and display details, reflecting strong regional characteristics and distinctive artistic features.

The Baise Uprising Memorial Hall is a national patriotic education base and one of the one hundred “Red Tourism Classic Scenic Areas.” Located in Yinglong Mountain Park in Baise City, Guangxi, it was established in 1961 and originally named the “Youjiang Revolutionary Cultural Relics Museum.” The name “Baise Uprising Memorial Hall” was inscribed by Comrade Jiang Zemin.

The memorial hall has seven exhibition rooms covering an area of 2,200 square meters, divided into four parts: Baise Thunder, Revolutionary Heroes, Deng Xiaoping and Baise, and Building a New Baise. It displays over 1,400 revolutionary cultural relics and images. With the use of modern scientific technologies such as sound, light, electricity, and multimedia, as well as a comprehensive application of various presentation methods including murals, sculptures, oil paintings, scene reconstructions, dioramas, holographic imaging, and virtual reality, the memorial hall is vivid and lifelike, with powerful appeal and attraction.

The Baise Uprising Monument, erected on Houlong Mountain in 1984, stands tall at 23.9 meters. Its shape resembles a red bayonet piercing the sky, symbolizing the indomitable spirit and strength of revolutionaries. The front of the monument’s base bears thirteen gilded characters inscribed by Comrade Deng Xiaoping: “Eternal Glory to the Revolutionary Martyrs of the Baise Uprising.” The back features an inscription recounting the events of the uprising, and the sides are adorned with white marble reliefs depicting the uprising and revolutionary victory. The raised “1929” at the top of the monument indicates the year of the uprising. The surrounding area of the base is shaded by lush pine and cypress trees, and there is a plaza in front of the monument for various commemorative activities. The staircase leading to the monument plaza has 314 steps—the number “314” is derived from the mathematical constant “pi,” symbolizing that the revolutionary spirit of the Baise Uprising will be passed down through generations. The width of the staircase is 11 meters, representing the date of the uprising: December 11, 1929.

Since its completion, the Baise Uprising Monument has been visited by hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life. Over 60 current and former Party and state leaders, including Hu Jintao, Jiang Zemin, and others, have come here to lay wreaths in honor of the martyrs of the Baise Uprising.

The Youjiang Ethnic Museum, established in 1985, is located atop Houlong Mountain in Baise City, Guangxi. The museum has a construction area of 4,261.8 square meters, with the main building designed in the classical Zhuang-style corridor courtyard with double eaves, showcasing a unique ethnic architectural style. The museum houses a large collection of historical cultural relics of ethnic minorities, featuring eight exhibition rooms with a display area of 1,507 square meters and over 400 exhibits (sets). In December 2001, with the approval of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee and the People’s Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, it was designated as a Patriotic Education Base of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
