Shengtang Mountain is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Shengtang Mountain is located in the southwest of Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County, Laibin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, about 45 kilometers from the county town. The mountain features towering peaks, all with an elevation of over 1,600 meters, and the main peak stands at 1,979 meters above sea level, making it the second highest peak in central Guangxi. The scenic area is covered with lush virgin forests and serves as an important water conservation forest reserve. Major attractions include: Mist-Shrouded Mountains, Twin Dragons Spitting Jade, the Stone River Wonder, and the Mysterious Stone Wall.

Shengtang Mountain represents the essence of the natural scenery of the Jinxiu Dayao Mountain range. It encompasses 24 mountain valleys, each crowned with dark green virgin forests. Countless mountain streams radiate to eight surrounding counties, irrigating millions of acres of fertile farmland, hence the area is referred to as a "green reservoir." Seven stone peaks rise above 1,600 meters into the clouds, with the highest being Ma’an Peak. These peaks are often shrouded in mist, appearing and disappearing mysteriously. From the summit, one can see layers of peaks rising like bamboo shoots or pillars, some reaching 400 to 500 meters in height, stretching as far as the eye can see across tens of miles—resembling a sea of pagodas and spears, with a majestic and awe-inspiring presence.

Within the valleys, remnants of ancient glacial periods such as stone rivers and stone seas can still be found. Shengtang Mountain is covered with ancient trees, showcasing typical mid-subtropical forest scenery. The mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest belt between 1,000 and 1,500 meters above sea level is home to rare ornamental tree species such as five-needle pine and podocarpus, which mostly grow along cliffs, lush and vigorous. Above 1,500 meters up to the summit lies a rare sea of over ten thousand acres of deciduous azalea forests, interspersed with precious Fujian cypress. In May every year, the azaleas bloom vibrantly, with trees covered in red, yellow, and white blossoms exuding a rich fragrance. Shengtang Mountain also boasts numerous waterfalls, some reaching several hundred meters in height. Within a radius of a hundred li, the area is crisscrossed with ravines, densely forested, and serves as a paradise for rare birds and animals. Visitors often spot groups of monkeys playing among the forests and cliffs, as well as glimpses of forest musk deer, goats, silver pheasants, and golden pheasants. Shengtang Mountain features steep crimson peaks, rugged rocks, verdant trees, and meandering clear waters. The crimson peaks, blue waters, and green trees complement one another, each showcasing unique beauty. The landscape offers ever-changing views as you move through it, making it a destination of high tourism value.

Shengtang Mountain is composed of Devonian purple-red conglomerate and sandstone. Through the forces of nature and prolonged erosion, cutting, weathering, and disintegration by surface water, it has formed a Danxia-style landform of towering crimson peaks, steep vermilion cliffs, sharp ridges, and deep valleys.

At dawn, when the sun rises high over the mountains, the valleys are filled with vast seas of cloud, birds chirp melodiously, and clouds roll in waves, visitors find themselves immersed in a grand panorama of floating peaks, intertwined pines and bamboos, and monkeys and cranes living in harmony. The countless jagged and uniquely shaped peaks and rocks are like divine whips standing tall from the earth to the sky; some resemble impregnable iron walls standing firmly; others look like precariously stacked eggs on a seesaw ready to tumble; some resemble playful monkeys admiring the moon or turtles frolicking with flowers, vividly lifelike; and others look like delicate ancient tripods. Their crimson hues, under the glow of the sunrise, resemble a beauty wearing light makeup, exuding a shy charm that captivates and intoxicates. Visitors who come here to seek out its serenity and beauty all marvel at the magical and mysterious peaks and rocks of Shengtang Mountain, acclaiming it as a “heavenly paradise on earth.” With its mystical peaks veiled in fog, seas of clouds and stone rivers, towering waterfalls, vast azalea forests that change color, mysterious stone walls, lifelike stone beasts, and endless peaks, the wonders are too numerous to take in all at once.
