Immortal's Platform

The Immortal's Platform is one of the scenic spots in the Yangmei Mountain area of Pengshan. Other attractions in the area include the Langsan Rock, Fireboat Rock, Flying Squirrel Cave, Plowhead Cave, and Compass Rock. The Immortal's Platform is a towering stone pillar that abruptly rises from the mountaintop. It is a square-shaped column, dozens of meters high, several meters in length and width, wider at the top and narrower at the bottom, with a flat top — hence the name "platform." Legend has it that this stone platform was once very tall in ancient times, soaring into the clouds and entering the realm of the immortals. It is said to have often been the site where the Jade Emperor held grand banquets for his ministers or where the Queen Mother of the West hosted her magnificent Peach Banquet. Hence, it is called the Immortal's Platform.

There is also a tomb on the top of the Immortal's Platform. People say it is a feng shui treasure land, known as the "Candle Sticking Up to the Sky."
