Millennium-old Pine Tree On a rocky cliff over a thousand meters above sea level on General Mountain in Dapeng Town, there stands a millennium-old pine tree (a rare five-needled pine). With its ancient, gnarled trunk and densely layered branches, the tree leans precariously on the high mountain cliff, truly resembling a dragon soaring over a sheer precipice — an awe-inspiring sight. Its crown spreads out flat like an umbrella, strikingly similar to a heavenly dragon holding up a parasol. Known as the General’s Guest-Greeting Pine, it is also referred to as the “immortal pine,” a millennium-old tree.
