Simian Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Pingnan County. Established as the Simian Commune in 1958, upgraded to a township in 1959, reverted to a commune in 1961, re-established as a township in 1984, and upgraded to a town in 1992. Located in the southeastern part of the county, it is 55 kilometers from the county seat. It covers an area of 123 square kilometers with a population of 37,000. The town government is stationed at Simian Market. The Ping (Shan) Da (An) and Gu (He) Xin (Long) highways run through the area. It administers 12 village committees: Simian, Zhuiqiao, Liuhe, Futian, Nanshan, Luquan, Luosu, Cenfeng, Xinlong, Hezhou, Lutang, and Liangmu.
