The former residence site covers an area of approximately 100 square meters. With the center of the homestead as the reference point, the protected area extends 40 meters around it, and the controlled zone spans 50 meters. The controlled zone is defined as a 50-meter radius from the center of the homestead.

Lin Shaozhang (1826–1864) was a general and the Prince of Zhang of the Taiping Rebellion. He was from Guangxi. His eldest brother was the Prince of Qiu, Lin Fengxiang; his third brother was the Prince of Jing, Lin Daju; and his fourth brother was the Prince of Qin, Lin Shifa. After joining the Jintian Uprising, by the end of 1852 (the second year of Emperor Xianfeng’s reign), he captured Yuezhou (now Yueyang City) in Hunan and was promoted to Supervisor-General. The following year, he was elevated to Commander. He followed Prince Zhu Xikun in the attack on Jiangsu (now a county located northwest of Yizheng City). While other forces suffered defeat, his army was the only one to return intact, earning him the title of Chancellor of Imperial Grace. In October, he was further promoted to Vice-Chancellor of the Spring Office.
