Hualian Yao Ethnic Township: Located in the northernmost mountainous region of Pingnan County, it borders Ningkang Township of Teng County to the east, Xiayi Yao Ethnic Township of Mengshan to the north, Luoxiang of Jinxiu to the west, and neighboring Tonghe, Guancheng, Guoan, and other townships within the county to the south. Covering an area of 240 square kilometers, it is the largest township in the county by area. Most of the land is mountainous, with only 11,400 mu of paddy fields. The township has a population of approximately 40,000, comprising ethnic groups including Yao, Han, Zhuang, Miao, Dong, and Mulao, among which the Yao ethnic group makes up about 65%.
