Saimian Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Pingnan County. Established as the Saimian Commune in 1958, reorganized as a township in 1959, restored as a commune in 1961, re-established as a township in 1984, and upgraded to a town in 1992. Located in the southeastern part of the county, it is 55 kilometers from the county seat. It covers an area of 123 square kilometers with a population of 37,000. The town government is located in Saimian Market. The Ping (Shan) Da (An) and Gu (He) Xin (Long) highways run through the area.
