Xujian Ancestral Temple

Xujian Ancestral Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangdong Province.

Located in the central urban area of Lubao Town, Sanshui District, Foshan City, Xujian Ancestral Temple was first built in 1208. It houses the Temple of the Northern Emperor, Guanyin Temple, Wenchang Temple, and Huashan Temple, embodying a fusion of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. Along with the Longmu Temple in Yuexiang and the Foshan Ancestral Temple, it is ranked among the three most influential ancient temples in Guangdong Province. The temple is quaint and divine, and is associated with beautiful legends such as the “Grandmother Mountain” and “Immortal’s Footprint,” gaining fame both at home and abroad. Devotees and worshippers come in an endless stream, with incense smoke lingering constantly.
