Deng Pei’s Former Residence is a cultural tourism attraction.

Deng Pei’s Former Residence is located in Shipuzhou Village, Southwest Town, Sanshui City. It was Deng Pei’s birthplace and childhood home. Built during the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty, it features a two-courtyard layout with a flush-gable roof and covers an area of 110 square meters.

Deng Pei (1884–1927) lost his father at a young age and grew up in extreme poverty. He left his hometown to become an apprentice in Tianjin and at the age of seventeen began working at the Tangshan Manufacturing Plant of the Beijing–Fengtian Railway. With the guidance and support of figures such as Li Dazhao, Zhang Tailei, and Yu Fangzhou, he became involved in the Tangshan labor movement and joined the Beijing Communist Group in early 1921. In July of the same year, after the founding of the Chinese Communist Party, Deng Pei was appointed Secretary of the Tangshan Municipal Committee of the CPC. He subsequently served as President of the Beijing–Fengtian Railway Labor Union, Chairman of the All-China Railway Labor Union, and Executive Committee Member of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. He was killed during the “April 15” political crackdown in Guangzhou in 1927.

In 1994, the People’s Government of Sanshui City designated it as a cultural relics protection unit.

Shipuzhou Village: The Shipuzhou Village Committee administers five natural villages and five villager groups: Dengguan, Zenglong, Nanhe, Xihhe, and Setang, with a permanent population of 1,244, including 1,148 registered villagers. The village currently has 96 acres of arable land (all paddy fields, no dry land) and 808 acres of fish ponds.

Due to the occupation by Nanfeng Avenue, Shinan Avenue, and the requisition by the town’s private economic development zone, the Village Committee has shifted from a situation of “few people, much land” to “many people, little land.” However, its proximity to Nanfeng Avenue provides convenient transportation, which is more conducive to the development of the rural economy.
