The Tomb of Liang Shiyi

The Tomb of Liang Shiyi is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangdong Province.

The Tomb of Liang Shiyi (Liángshìyí Mù) is located at Jiumu Dun in Gangtou Village, Baini Town. Liang Shiyi (1869–1933) was a native of Gangtou Village, Baini Town. He was selected as a presented scholar (Shujishi) during the imperial examination of the Guangxu Emperor’s reign in the Qing Dynasty and was appointed as a compiler in the Hanlin Academy. He once served as the Minister of Posts and Communications in the late Qing Dynasty, Secretary-General to President Yuan Shikai, and Premier of the State Council of the Beijing Government, among other positions. The tomb is a circular earthen mound, with the surrounding burial ground covering 1,500 square meters and surrounded by fragrant flowers and trees. The tombstone was inscribed by Ye Gongchuo, and there is a stone offering table in front of the monument. In front of the tomb stands a stone memorial archway, with “Liang Family’s Noble Tomb” (梁氏佳城) written on the front and “Generals and Ministers Shine Together” (将相联辉), inscribed by Duan Qirui, on the reverse side. The tomb site and its various features remain well-preserved to this day.

On November 8, 2008, the General Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province issued the "Notice on the Announcement of the Fifth Batch of Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units," in which the Tomb of Liang Shiyi was included in the list of Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units.
