Junshan Wild Lotus World

Junshan Wild Lotus World is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Junshan Wild Lotus World in the "Land of Hibiscus" was named after being awarded the title of "Hometown of China's Wild Lotus" by the State Forestry Administration in 2009. The scenic area spans 10,000 acres, including over 6,000 acres of lotus fields. This region is part of the Dongting Lake Waterfowl Habitat Protection Project, the Wild Lotus Conservation Project, and the East Dongting Lake Wetland Park. In July 2010, the Shanghai Great World Guinness Headquarters recognized Junshan Wild Lotus World as the "Largest Concentrated Area of Wild Lotus." To enhance the scenic area’s reputation, since 2009, the China (Yueyang) Wild Lotus Tourism and Culture Festival has been successfully held annually. Additionally, the overall tourism development plan and detailed construction plans for the Wild Lotus World have been completed, covering a survey area of 7.5 square kilometers, with a core scenic area planned for 4 square kilometers. It is being developed to the in-depth standards of 16 construction items for a national AAAAA-level scenic tourist area. The development blueprint envisions a "Seven Stars Around the Moon" layout featuring "Lotus Emerging from Water, Autumn Lotus in Fish Ponds, Lotus Dwelling with Buddhism, Emerald Isles in the Stream, Lotus Blossoms Gathering, Elegant Charm of Jun Lotus, and Lingering Lotus in the Breeze." In 2010, the first phase of the scenic area projects—including the entrance road, inner and outer squares, gate tower, lotus viewing tower, and tourist service center—were successfully completed with an investment of over 100 million yuan. In 2012, it was successfully rated as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
