Yunjiu Peak

Yunjiu Peak is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Hunan Province.

Located in Pingtian Village, Dongyangdu Township. According to the *Qingquan County Annals*, “When clouds rise, they swirl around the mountain like a vulture,” hence the name Yunjiu Peak.

Below the peak lies Yunjiu Pool, with extremely deep water. By the pool is a stone arch cave, inside which grotesque rocks take on various shapes. During severe droughts when the water recedes, people can enter the cave. At the summit of the peak is a clear spring well that never runs dry year-round. Originally there was Yunjiu Temple, which was once highly popular for worship, but it no longer exists.
