The Dingjiagang Site is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Era: Neolithic Age

The Dingjiagang Site is located on a 1-meter-high terrace in Group 3 of Dongtianyan Village, Cennan Township, Lixian County, Hunan Province, surrounded by water systems on all sides. It lies 2 kilometers north of the Jijiao City Site and is situated in the heart of the Linyang Plain. The site stretches approximately 330 meters from east to west and about 250 meters from north to south, covering a total area of around 66,651 square meters.

Excavations were carried out in 1979 and 2000. The site boasts rich cultural remains, with the earliest dating back to the Zaoshi Lower Culture. It subsequently experienced the Tangjia Gang Culture, the Daxi Culture, the Qujialing Culture, and latest the Shijiahe Culture. Among these, the cultural remains from the Tangjia Gang and Daxi Cultures are the most intact and typical. A number of important relics have been discovered, including tombs, sacrificial platforms, and sacrificial pits. The site holds great value for understanding the connections and chronological sequence of various Neolithic cultures, providing crucial evidence and physical material for exploring early human primitive society and the origins of civilization.

In 2002, it was designated as a Provincial-Level Cultural Relics Protection Unit. In May 2013, it was listed as part of the Seventh Batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units by the State Council.
