Camel Peak Scenic Area of Langshan Mountain

This area includes 13 scenic spots such as the One-Line Sky, Ghost Cave, and Candle Peak.

Camel Peak is made up of four stone mountains, resembling a giant camel searching for its companions. From a distance, its head, tail, and body have clear outlines. It stands opposite the One-Line Sky. In the early Qing Dynasty, the chivalrous Yang Fakui raised the banner of anti-Qing and pro-Ming resistance, was wanted by the Qing government, and took refuge here. Today, there are still the 99-step heavenly ladder he carved, statues of the righteous hero, and a stone mill preserved at the peak. This peak is the highest point of the Langshan Mountain Scenic Area. On its southeastern side, from the foot to the top of the mountain, the surface is as smooth as if carved, resembling a “wordless sky stele” crafted by nature.

The Qianfo Summit towers into the clouds. From the summit, one can take in the surrounding landscape in all directions. The “No. 1 Gorge Under Heaven” is located deep within the misty Niu’bi Fortress, where a hundred-zhang cliff splits into a narrow crack over 230 meters long and only 0.8 meters wide. It is a rare sight in the world. Nearby, there are also circular stone gullies and Immortal’s Gully. The Leisure Pool is nestled among the surrounding mountains and valleys, spanning over two acres, with crystal-clear water like a mirror. In the center of the pool, there is a naturally formed stone platform, resembling a fishing platform. The Buddha Ding Mountain features three peaks standing like tripods. A waterfall cascades down from a 30-meter-high gorge, splashing beads of water and mist. When the setting sun shines on it, rainbows form, earning it the reputation of the “Seven-Colored Ribbon.” The Immortal Pepper, standing in the One-Line Sky canyon group, is over 180 meters tall, with a large top and small base, resembling an enormous pepper.

Between Camel Peak and Candle Peak, there is a crevice that is several meters long, over 50 meters wide, and only about a meter high, with a side angle of 40 degrees. It resembles a dragon opening its mouth, stretching eastward. When sunlight shines into it, the scene is spectacular, and it is called the “Dragon’s Mouth Facing the Sun.” The circular single-arch sky bridge is several meters long, 7.6 meters wide, and 11 meters high. The thickest part of the bridge deck is 7 meters, and the thinnest part is several meters. It looks as if it were carved, making it the premier sky bridge in China’s Danxia landform.
