The former residence of Chen Duxiu is a cultural heritage protection unit in Beijing.

The former residence of Chen Duxiu is located

at No. 20 Jian’gan Hutong, Beichizi Street, Dongcheng District, and is listed as part of the sixth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Beijing.

The courtyard faces south, featuring an ornamental gate, a three-room main house, three rooms to the south, and a hip-and-gable roof with flush gable tiles. Chen Duxiu lived here from 1917 to 1919, giving the site significant historical value.

Chen Duxiu (October 9, 1879 – May 27, 1942), originally named Qingtong, with the official name Qiansheng, courtesy name Zhongfu, and pseudonym Shian, was from Huaining, Anhui (now Anqing). He was a great patriot, revolutionary, reformer, democrat, and enlightenment thinker in modern Chinese history.
