Stone Railings

The Stone Railings is a cultural heritage site protected by Huayuan County.

The Stone Railings is located in Paiwu Township and is a renowned karst stone forest scenic area in western Hunan. It was listed as a key county-level cultural heritage site in 1983. The area is filled with oddly shaped stones, featuring uniquely spectacular natural formations. There is the towering “Stairway to Heaven,” which rises over 40 meters high and is far too steep to climb. There is also the majestic and spectacular “Gate of the Heavenly South.” Climbing up the Gate of the Heavenly South offers a panoramic view of the terraced fields and tea-covered hills of the Miao villages.
