Mulan Shengtian Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Shengtian Farm, also known as the Mulan Shengtian Tourist Area, is located in Wangjiahe Street, an ancient town in Huangpi District, Wuhan City. ...Shengtian Farm was established in 1995, originally the Shengtian Forest Farm where educated youths were sent down. Covering an area of over 6,000 acres, including more than 300 acres of water surface, it is surrounded by mountains on all sides with a lake in the center, boasting beautiful scenery. An outdoor leisure base was established here in 2000. From Hankou Railway Station, you can take bus routes 292 or 295 to the Huangpi Tourism Distribution Center and transfer to Shengtian Farm. [1]

Shengtian Farm is a comprehensive enterprise integrating planting (pure green cultivation), breeding, natural scenery, historical sites, rural tourism, leisure vacation, outdoor adventure sports, catering, and entertainment. The total construction area of Shengtian Farm exceeds 6,000 square meters. The guesthouse can accommodate 160 people, the multifunctional hall can host meetings for 200 people, and the restaurant can serve 300 people dining at the same time. [1]

Shengtian Farm is rich in historical relics. The ancient tea-trading path bears the footprints of merchants from the past, recording the historical vicissitudes of the “tea route.” The Linggong Temple was built around the same time as the White Horse Temple and the Mulan Mountain Taoist Temple, originating in the Tang Dynasty, serving as a testament to the history of local folk religion. The stone houses of Tianshan Ancient Stockade recount the struggle of the Taiping Rebellion. The “New Fourth Army Relics” near Aifeng Cliff still shine with the heroic valor of the Fifth Division of the New Fourth Army, led by Li Xiannian, in their fight against the Japanese invaders.

Shengtian Lake — formerly the Shengtian Reservoir — instantly transports visitors back to the agricultural “Learn from Dazhai” era of “battling heaven and earth, moving mountains and creating seas.”

Shengtian Farm has profound cultural heritage. The Mulan culture is deeply rooted among the people, permeating every mountain, river, plant, and tree. “Aifeng,” “Tearful Eye Stone,” “Jade Pool,” “Purple Mist Pine,” and “Maple Grove Hollow” all tell legends of “loyalty, filial piety, bravery, and martyrdom,” reflecting the image of the heroine Hua Mulan. The Mulan First Palace, the first Buddhist temple pilgrims encounter on their way to Mulan Mountain, combines both Buddhist and Taoist traditions. The Bamboo Grove Ancient Temple was once a grand local shrine of a wealthy family, embodying the religious culture of the Chu region just like Mulan Mountain. This is also the hometown of Han Guangdu, a legendary wise figure in folklore, the birthplace of Wang Zhengqi, a Qing Dynasty General of Fame, and the origin of the renowned Dragon Boat Festival event “Changyan Dragon Boat Race” commemorating Qu Yuan.

The ancient city stands at an altitude of 587 meters and was built during the Taiping Rebellion period. The city was constructed along the mountain terrain using blue stones, with walls about 4 meters high and covering an area of approximately 10,000 square meters. The buildings inside are staggered in a well-planned layout resembling a field pattern, and most remain well-preserved today. The city walls have withstood a century of wind and rain without collapsing. Uniquely, the city has only one gate embedded in the wall, uniquely positioned to open to the northwest. The entire ancient city is situated atop Turtle-Carrying Stone Mountain, which resembles a divine turtle, giving the impression from afar of a turtle carrying a peak on its back.

Shengtian Lake, located at the entrance of the scenic area at the bottom of the valley, was formerly known as the Shengtian Reservoir. With a broad lake surface, surrounding fields, lush forests, blue skies, clear waters, and misty mountain hues, entering the farm feels like stepping into a traditional Chinese landscape painting.

Heigou (Black Valley) is a ravine stretching over a thousand meters up the mountain range from the valley bottom. The valley features peculiar rocks, dense strange trees, steep cliffs, hidden streams, flying birds and beasts, exotic flowers and fruits—all of which are awe-inspiring. At the top of Heigou, beneath a grove of thousand-bamboo stalks, lies a pool of crystal-clear water as white as snow, known as Jade Pool. The legend of Jade Pool is as beautiful and touching as its scenery. Along the mountain path, there are also highlight attractions such as the “Tea Route,” “One Dragon Spring,” “Maple Grove Hollow,” “Cangban Stone,” “Aifeng,” “Hand-Washing Pool,” and “Lover’s Stone” for you to explore and enjoy.

The Shengtian Scenic Area offers beautiful views in all four seasons. In spring, Shengtian is lush with green mountains and vibrant plants, charming and delightful. In summer, it boasts clear blue waters, refreshing breezes, and cool moonlight, perfect for escaping the heat. In autumn, the mountains are covered with red leaves, and persimmons, Sichuan peppercorns, and dates hang abundantly, presenting a scene of harvest. In winter, Shengtian is blanketed in snow, with water freezing instantly, and vast wild landscapes appearing solemn and majestic. Shengtian is like a beautiful and melodious song, flowing smoothly and briskly, playing upon the clear streams and echoing through the emerald valleys, captivating the heart and uplifting the spirit. Shengtian Farm offers various activities tailored to different groups. For adventurous youths seeking excitement and challenges, the farm provides activities such as rock climbing in Heigou, paintball (real-life CS), and crossing the Jade Pool via rope bridges. For couples longing for romance, they can “walk on water” on the net bridge, “touch the water lightly” on the aerial suspension bridge, or enjoy water ziplining and beach volleyball to spark their romantic feelings.
