Former Residence and Tomb of Martyr Wu Guanghao

Located in Wangjiahe Town, Huangpi District, Wuhan City. Wu Guanghao (1906–1929) graduated from the Whampoa Military Academy in 1926, served as Deputy Commander during the Huangma Uprising, and later became Commander of the Second Route Army of the Hubei–Eastern China Forces of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army. Wu Guanghao was a leader of the Huangma Uprising, a founder of the Red Army and Soviet areas in the Hubei–Henan border region, and a senior commander of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. Born in 1906 in Huangpi, Hubei, he was actively involved in patriotic movements in his early years. In 1925, he enrolled in the third class of the Whampoa Military Academy. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1926. After graduation, he took part in the Northern Expedition, serving as a company and then battalion commander in the National Revolutionary Army’s 4th Army, and participated in battles at Tingsiqiao, Heshengqiao, and Wuchang.

After the failure of the Great Revolution in 1927, he was sent to southern Hubei to engage in revolutionary activities and participated in leading the southern Hubei Uprising in September.
